Throughout her law school career, Lara Gabrys focused on working in criminal and family law as a trial attorney and litigator. After graduating, she worked for several District Court Judges in both Denver and Arapahoe County gaining insight into the Judges perspective from working behind the bench. With this experience, she turned to criminal prosecution and worked as a deputy district attorney where she successfully tried several misdemeanor cases during her time at the office. While grateful for this trial experience, Lara decided to change paths and work as a family law attorney representing several clients in divorce proceedings, allocations for child custody determinations, and accompanying individuals at protection order hearings. Subsequently, she returned to criminal law and worked as a criminal defense attorney in cases ranging from traffic infractions to high profile felonies.
Although Lara enjoys being in the courtroom and is comfortable in front of a jury, she has since realized that the courtroom is not the most efficient way of resolving disputes. Focusing instead on civil litigation, she has learned that she can do more for her clients by finding alternative ways to settle cases and only trying a case in the courtroom when necessary. Based upon her diverse experience, Lara brings a different approach to her cases and works exceptionally hard to ensure that her clients are well informed at every stage of the proceeding. Lara enjoys the complexities of civil litigation and handles every aspect of the case from the initial complaint until trial or settlement is complete.
In her off time, Lara likes to read and run.
